IOM Public Communication Campaign Toolkit

The toolkit is designed to support IOM staff and other migration professionals responsible for public communication campaigns in complex settings who are, perhaps, new to this area of work. It provides a useful introduction to the many approaches to produce awareness-raising, behaviour change and information campaigns in migration contexts.

Communication for Development 2019 Results Summary

During 2019 we carried out 4 Communication for Development processes in communities in Mexico and Central America, with the goal of promoting change in the knowledge, attitudes and practices concerning migration. Here are some key results.

"Migrating Informed" Campaing in Mexico

With the slogan "The truth is, you will be safer if you migrate having the correct information", the audiovisual campaign "Migrating Informed" aims to inform migrants in transit through Mexico about the options they have to migrate on a regular form.

Communication for Development in Guatemala: Go for it!

IOM, through the Western Hemisphere Program, supports communication for development (C4D) processes in the region, including in Guatemala. There, a participative campaign is currently being developed for young people to reflect on their life plans and get informed about alternatives to irregular migration. IOM Launches Five Campaigns to Prevent Irregular Migration in Mexico and Central America

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is currently launching five campaigns to prevent the risks of irregular migration and encourage informed decision making among potential young Central American migrants.
