The International Organization for Migration of the United Nations (IOM) inaugurated Information Hubs on migration in Managua and San Carlos, aimed at assisting migrants or potential migrants, with the objective of providing information on the risks associated with migration. irregular migration.

The information hub in San Carlos was made in partnership with Cáritas de Nicaragua through the Pastoral de Movilidad Humana, which provides humanitarian assistance to migrants who travel through that area and to migrant workers and their families in transit and returnees.

In addition to providing information about migratory and consular services and procedures and instances that offer protection and assistance to migrants, the window will also be a space where the community will be sensitized to the importance of migrating on a regular basis. safe, as well as the risks associated with irregular migration, trafficking in persons and illicit trafficking.

To continue strengthening the informative work of the hubs, on July 4 the National Meeting of Information Windows in Nicaragua was held. The activity served as a space for the exchange of good practices among the organizations, to strengthen their informative role and identify joint actions and develop a plan of action for coordinating the strengthening of the hubs.
