IOM’s Specialized Course on Migrant Children extend to Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama

A total of 50 officials of institutions and civil society organizations in Costa Rica started in April a specialized course to promote the comprehensive protection of migrant children and adolescents.  About 100 people more from Nicaragua and Panama will join this group by middle May.

More than 100 Guatemalan children participate in Community Festival on Safe Migration

The cold of the morning of Monday, April 17, did not prevent youngsters, students, mothers with their daughters and sons, and other people from approaching the acoustic shell of Concepción Tutuapa’s central park in San Marcos Guatemala, to see what the invitation that was made through the loudspeakers was about. Minutes later they laughed at the occurrences of a clown and took pictures along with the messages that informed them on safe and regular migration.

Rebuilding the Confidence of Migrant Adolescents

Nation Civil Police of Guatemala with new tools for protection of migrant children

Through its Mesoamerica Program, the United Nations Migration Agency (IOM) provided the National Civil Police with new technological and methodological tools that will help to strengthen the capacities of vulnerable migrant cases identification, attention and referral, especially children and adolescents.
