Irregular migration is defined as the movement that takes place outside the regulatory norms of the sending, transit and receiving countries. From the perspective of destination countries it is entry, stay or work in a country without the necessary authorization or documents required under immigration regulations. Migration in these conditions exposes migrants to a series of factors that can affect their physical and mental health, for example, through injuries, abuse, illness, family separation and others; case that increases due other limitations faced by migrants such as the lack of access to health and justice, the vulnerability to criminal networks of human trafficking and smuggling, xenophobia, among others, in addition to the individual factors that define the vulnerability of each migrant. In many cases, irregular migration is caused by expulsion factors such as lack of employment opportunities, poverty or violence in countries of origin.
