Xenophobia and discrimination are in many cases one of the greatest challenges to which migrants are exposed to during their transit, upon arrival to their destination, and even, in their countries of origin. This rejection can give place to violent acts at the the physical or psychological level, or promote practices such as the rejection of services in health and justice centers. This ignores the enormous social, cultural and economic contributions of migrants to transit and destination communities. For this reason, IOM considers xenophobia and discrimination as one of the greatest barriers towards the integration of migrants and to the full use of the value-added by migration.
This thematic module includes different materials, like videos, documentaries, radio ads, brochures, comics, and others; that you can use to implement information activities to foster the elimination of xenophobia and discrimination, and promote the integration of migrants at all level. We also invite you to visit our Activities section where you can find activities that you can implement with the help of the chosen materials.
